Oddsox can work with any Caller, but have built up a good rapport with respected and versatile Barndance & Ceilidh Caller / MC Bob Adams.
Bob has many years of experience working at festivals and a wide variety of other events all over the UK, and occasionally beyond. Festivals include Cambridge, Chippenham, Chester, Sidmouth, Towersey, etc.
He's also a popular choice for community celebrations, weddings and village hall gatherings, offering each audience a carefully chosen selection of dances to suit the occasion.
Bob particularly enjoys working with people who have little or no experience and his easy going and friendly approach will coax the most reluctant of participants onto the dance floor. Weddings have become something of a speciality.
"always brings a wide repertoire of both popular and unusual dances, carefully chosen and patiently explained"
As well as a Caller, Bob is a freelance Event Organiser with a track record established over more than 30 years, and a part-time Theatre Manager at The Stables Theatre, Wavendon (currently the 4th busiest concert venue in the country).
Gerald Claridge is not only a great caller but also a superfine guitarist and bass player. He can strum dancy and uplifting jazzy and ceilidh tunes. He can call and play at the same time - all by himself. The rest of us do like to join in as well! He even knows which way to face the audience!
As a former head teacher at a special school he knows how get the best out of both well-behaved and rowdy crowds!
Laz Gilbert is also a highly experienced caller and accomplished musician. He has a fun and encouraging approach to calling and is great at getting the crowd moving and enjoying themselves - whether they are new to ceilidh or experienced.
Laz is fascinated with the history of the traditional dances and tunes. He sometimes shares entertaining snippets of this information between numbers.
The 'Hat Dance' is his speciality!
According to individual availability and the type of event, Oddsox also work with several other great experienced Callers
